I'm Robert. I'm in my sixties, and I started The Holiday Audit because I'd grown frustrated with travel writing that either assumed its readers were thirty years younger or buried the practical details that actually matter for a comfortable trip.
Like many travellers in their fifties, sixties, and seventies, my priorities have naturally shifted. I don't care about finding the trendiest nightlife—I care about whether a resort layout requires climbing a steep hill, whether a hotel features reliable lifts and walk-in showers, and where to find an authentic meal favoured by locals rather than a tourist trap.
I realised that if I wanted honest, uncompromising information to plan my own trips, I was going to have to go out and gather it myself. This is independent, boots-on-the-ground research you can rely on—written by someone our age, for people our age.
